Can thieves detect the AirTag?

Apple includes anti-stalking protections that may notify someone if an AirTag is traveling with them over time. While no tracking solution is theft-proof, the TRLS stem significantly increases recovery chances compared to visible trackers or no tracker at all. How does the AirTag integration work?

The TRLS stem discreetly hides an Apple AirTag inside the stem body. Once installed, the AirTag is completely concealed and protected, allowing you to track your bike using Apple’s Find My network without any external mounts or visible trackers.

Is an Apple AirTag included?

No. The stem is designed to work with a standard Apple AirTag, which must be purchased separately.

Will the AirTag affect stem strength or safety?

Not at all. The stem was engineered from the ground up to meet the demands of aggressive trail and enduro riding. The AirTag compartment does not compromise structural integrity, clamping force, or rider safety.

What handlebar sizes is the stem compatible with?

The TRLS stem is compatible with 31.8mm and 35mm handlebars. Additional sizes may be offered in the future.

Is the stem compatible with all mountain bikes?

The stem fits standard modern MTB steerer tubes (1 ⅛”). If your bike uses a standard MTB fork and handlebar setup, the TRLS stem will fit.

Does the stem work without an iPhone nearby?

Yes. Apple AirTags use the global Find My network. Any nearby Apple device can securely and anonymously help update your bike’s location—no pairing with nearby phones required.

What materials is the stem made from?

The stem is precision-machined from high-strength 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum alloy, chosen for its strength-to-weight ratio and durability on aggressive terrain.

Is the stem heavy?

The TRLS stem is competitively weighted for a trail/enduro stem. The added AirTag functionality comes with minimal weight impact.

Is the stem patented?

Yes. The TRLS AirTag-integrated stem is provisionally patented, protecting the unique design and integration method.

Where is the stem designed and tested?

All TRLS components are designed and tested in the Appalachian Mountains, on real trails, by real riders.
